Will existing tenants have access to the new units?
Yes, as per the City of Toronto tenant relocation policies, all existing tenants will have the right-to-return.
The right-to-return guarantees that tenants will be provided with a new rental unit of the same apartment type at a similar size and similar rent.
To learn more about the rental replacement process and your rights as a tenant, reach out through the Tenant contact page.
Where are we in the planning process?
We are still very early in the process; the redevelopment will take several years.
Applications for Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Control, and Rental Housing Demolition were submitted to the City of Toronto in October 2021.
These submissions will begin the formal review process with the City of Toronto.
This process typically takes anywhere from 24-36 months before we could receive an approval.
Upon completion of the application approvals process (24-36 months), tenants will be notified.
The Rental Housing Demolition Notification will be sent, tenants will have 6 months to vacate.
Can you tell me about your community engagement process? How can I get involved?
Community engagement is a key part of the planning process.
Your feedback helps our team understand community values, concerns, and aspirations for the future of the site.
We are still in the early stages of the redevelopment and there will be numerous engagement opportunities throughout the planning process.
We have developed a Residents Outreach Program that includes a project website, update letters, info sessions, and a Residents Outreach Coordinator.
